The full story movie The Glass House (2001)

Plot Summary:

The scene begins with four teenage girls who watch a sadistic film in a cinemaThey run away without their parents' knowledge and it seems they do it quite often. And always managed to go home without getting caught. One night, they again stole time and spent the night together while smoking and speeding on the road. Once satisfied, Ruby returned home and saw a police car parked in front of her house. He thought his parents called the police because he was considered missing. It turned out that the police came to report that his parents had been killed in a car accident. Ruby fainted.

The next day there was a church funeral for their parents, which was also attended by a husband and wife who were neighbors and coworkers of their parents, the Glass family. Including their uncle, Jake, his mother's sister. His uncle offered help to Ruby and his sister, Rhett, but Ruby refused. Ruby then meets with their family lawyer, Alvin. He said that Ruby and her sister got quite a lot of inheritance. And that his parents had written a will if after they died Ruby and his sister would be cared for by the Glass family. Ruby felt the attention given by the Glass family was more sincere. So they moved on to a large Glass family home in Malibu. Ruby and Rhett were amazed to see the beauty of the mansion, which was mostly made of glass. There they met with Vicki, the housemaid. But strangely enough, with a house of that size, Ruby and Rhett had to sleep in the same small room. Then there is the problem when the dinner menu is made by Mrs. Glass turns out not to suit their taste. They finally ordered pizza. When going to sleep, Ruby quarreled with her sister who didn't want to sleep with the lights on.

Ruby entered a new school, a public school, which was totally different from the private school where she used to be glamorous. Mrs. Glass who drove him to school. Although Ruby is nervous about her new environment, her new friends welcome her enough. After school, they get a prize. Rhett gets a play station and Ruby gets a new shirt.

Mrs. Glass apparently eavesdropped on telephone conversations with his old friend and scolded him for not wanting to join his new friends in public schools. Ruby realizes that Mrs. Glass apparently eavesdropped on the conversation. That night he woke up dreaming about his mother. Finally, he decided to swim and was surprised by the presence of Mr. A sudden glass, gave him a towel and told him to go into the house.

Ruby cannot forget the cause of the death of her parents. An accident of being drunk and driving a car. Especially when he took a driving course. Mrs. Glass catches him while trying to steal medicine from the closet, but Ruby reasons that he is menstruating and looking for medicine. Mrs. Glass takes him to the medicine cabinet in his room and gives Ruby one pill. At first glance Ruby sees that there are lots of medicines in the closet. Glass (Erin). That night he heard Mr. and Mrs. Glass fight.

Tomorrow night, Mr. Glass invites Ruby to dinner together and remembers their introduction when they were neighbors in Ruby's hometown. Mr. Glass tells how unhappy his married life was with Erin. Ruby who felt awkward invited her home because it was too late. Mr. Glass (Terry) drives recklessly that night. And when Ruby thought she was going to abuse her, it turned out that Terry was just pairing a seat belt. At home, Ruby sees Erin fainting while taking drugs. He rushed into his room.

Ruby feels that they are not suitable to live there. He met Alvin and told him about the discomfort of living in the house. He asked if his parents did not provide a choice of the house other than Glass's house. But Alvin turned out to be unable to help because it turned out he had told them to stay there. Because if not, they have to be managed by the state. But finally, Alvin said he would try to help. He also said that their inheritance reached 4 million dollars.

After dinner, Terry and Erin talked to Ruby and explained that Erin was not taking drugs that night, but because she had diabetes. And Terry didn't mean to make him uncomfortable and they apologized to him.

The next day, Vicki was late to pick him up at school. Finally, Ruby walked over and stopped at Terry's office to go home together. He was told to wait for a while and accidentally listened if Terry seemed to be in debt with a dangerous person and he was threatened in his own office. Terry has a company that rents out cars and he sees the cars that his parents used when the accident happened. On the way home, Terry said that he had fired Vicki for sending Ruby out of town without their permission (to meet Alvin). Ruby wondered how they could know that.

Full story of the glass house, Ruby, who already felt suspicious, began to anticipate. He managed to find out the alarm code number for the house door. Then find out about his parents' accident. He read that they were killed in a BMW car. Ruby is surprised because her parents' car is Saab and e-mails Alvin to ask. That night Ruby fell asleep and had no time to complete her essay assignment. But when he woke up, he saw that his task was difficult to resolve by Terry.

That afternoon, Nancy, a social worker met her at school and said she would help her problem. Ruby who feels wrong can do nothing. Nancy came to the Glass family's house and found the opposite of everything Ruby had said. They say that everyone has their own room. Nancy also examined the medicine cabinet and found that there were only a few drugs in it, including the diabetes medication that was recognized as belonging to Erin. Nancy also meets Ruby and Rhett and acts as if she has never met.

When they deliver Nancy, Ruby accidentally finds letters intended for Ruby in the trash, including a postcard from Jake's uncle. Ruby managed to tear off the address and save it. That night Ruby slept in her own room but realized that her internet network had been disconnected and she could not communicate secretly anymore with Alvin. That night Terry was again threatened by the mafia who gave him a debt, Ruby heard and learned that Terry was intent on taking their inheritance to pay off his debt. Ruby managed to save the number and could contact her again at any time.

Ruby got a strong rebuke at school because it turns out that the essay Terry did for yesterday was a copy. Ruby can't say that if she doesn't work on the essay, finally she can only accept the punishment. At home, Terry turned to blame him and said that he should be able to be responsible for himself. And Ruby agreed in his heart. He had decided to do something to escape from the family.

He tried calling Uncle Jake but he wasn't home. He steals Terry's car keys and invites Rhett to escape that night. He tricked him saying there would be a video game distribution that night and they would be there. Ruby timidly drove Terry's car and opened the trunk and then broke through the front gate. They almost accident because of fighting over the music. Their car was stopped by police in the middle of the road who asked for their license and vehicle registration. And realize that Terry caught up with them. Erin took Rhett to move to his car while Terry drove a car that was carried by Ruby. And confront everything at Terry. But Terry blamed Ruby and said that his parents were drunk because of Ruby's wild and defiant attitude. He also threatened that Ruby wouldn't do anything. Ruby tried to escape but failed. Terry slapped him and Erin injected him unconscious.

Terry was again threatened that night and was forced to go to the bank and tried to cash Ruby and Rhett's legacy but was refused. Terry and Erin fight that night. Erin blamed Terry for borrowing money from loan sharks while Terry blamed him for using illegal drugs. Depressed Erin finally committed suicide because of overdosage while watching Ruby's childhood video. As he staggered he walked to Rubi's room and hugged him. Ruby finds Erin dead next to him the next morning. Terry who saw Erin's corpse immediately looked for Ruby and Rhett but they hid. Ruby managed to call the loan shark yesterday disguised as Erin and told them to come to pick up the money. But Terry managed to catch them both and locked him in the basement. Ruby found a vent hole and tried to open it to escape. Terry, who was exhausted, finally fell asleep, just when they got out of the ventilation hole.

Rhett then goes into the house to steal the car keys from Terry's hand who is asleep drunk. Terry woke up because Alvin arrived. He asks where is Erin, Terry says he is in the hospital. And children are in piano lessons. At the same time, the loan shark that Ruby had called came to collect the debt to the confused Terry. They killed Alvin for trying to get away from there. The loan shark brings Terry's car and grabs Terry after silencing his mouth with plasters. They speed up with high speed without knowing that Ruby has damaged the brakes and pierced the tank. Their car rolled over to hit the road divider.

Ruby and Rhett walked away from the house and met a police patrol car on the road. They got a ride outside the city. On the way, they saw Terry's rolled car crashing into the road divider. The police went out to check and told Ruby and Rhett to wait in the car. It turns out that Terry survived the accident and hit the police. He headed to the police car where Ruby and Rhett waited while carrying the gun he had taken from the police earlier. But Ruby drove the police car and hit Terry to death.

In the final scene, it is shown that they both pilgrimage to the tomb of his parents with Jake's uncle. They were finally taken care of by Uncle Jake and lived at his home in Chicago.

  2. This article is very poorly written by somebody who obviously doesn’t have a grasp of grammar or gender in the English language. I couldn’t finish it due to the many many many mistakes. For what it’s worth, Ruby is a girl and Rhett is a boy.

  3. Who wrote this? A 5 year old struggling with gender concepts in the English language? Even if this article contained good information and substance, I couldn’t finish it due to the many many grammatical errors. For the record, Ruby is a girl and Rhett is a boy.

  4. All my glass and slate backed house signs and plaques are handmade by me to a very high standard and are produced using 15mm thick glass, 10mm thick slate and are constructed using stainless steel fixtures. Letters, numbers and designs are sandblasted, carved, engraved into the back of the glass to create an embossed relief carved appearance from the front surface of the glass
