The Full Story of The Expatriate Movie (2012)

The scene at the beginning of the film is a man wearing a mask who is robbing a bank alone. As soon as he got out of the bank, the bag containing the robbery was handed over to a motorbike while he himself boarded a pillion by another motorbike rider. It was shown that the bag was finally thrown into a car which was then picked up by a man.

Ben Logan is an American father, who lives with his teenage daughter in Antwerp. Amy is a rather naughty teenager with not-so-good school grades. Previously he lived in America with his grandfather, before being picked up by his father to stay with him. Ben works as an expert in a security device maker.

He and his colleague, Mei Ling, found that someone forgot to register a patent on a product and he reported it to his boss, Derek. Derek told him to work on the case, so he was late in attending an event at his daughter's school, an award-giving event for photography, where he was the main winner. Amy is disappointed because her father didn't come, decides to go play with her friends after the program is over. Ben saw it with a young man, Nabil.

Mei Ling left a cake for Amy, which turned out to contain beans. Ben didn't know that Amy was allergic to peanuts, so they spent the night in the hospital. Once morning arrived, Ben had to stop in the office briefly before returning home and had to take Amy with him.

When he arrived at the office, Ben was surprised, because his office was empty. It was as if the entire office and co-workers had moved from there in just one night. All calls to the office number are also not connected. Ben tried to contact the owner of the building and contact an extension to his office, but his former company, Halgate Group, was not registered in the building. Like disappearing swallowed by the earth.

When Ben finally came to Halgate Group's main office in Europe and met Braemar, they said they did not have employees on behalf of Derek Kohler, his boss at the company first. When he tried checking business e-mail from his Blackberry, but his cellphone was also empty without data. Ben checks into the bank where his salary is usually transferred, there isn't any funds in it. At the bank, Ben meets his former co-worker, Floyd, who asks why the company they work for suddenly disappears. But suddenly Floyd took hostage. Ben and Amy and tell Ben to drive somewhere while being held at gunpoint.

Ben managed to trick Floyd and their car overturned on the highway. Ben tried to ask who Floyd was working for, but he died. Ben and Amy chose to run away because they were chased by the police. They managed to get back into someone else's house and hide. Then they take the train to Antwerp to find a storage locker that matches the key Ben found in Floyd's pocket.

Ben goes to the locker room alone and tells Amy to wait in the cafe. He didn't realize that the police had seen him from afar. Inside the locker, he managed to find the document in the envelope and carry it. That Floyd is a hitman. And all the names in the file are the target.

The document turned out to contain the files of his former colleagues and their photographs. He then matched the addresses in the file with the local map and found that Mei Ling was in the Stockholm Hospital, precisely in the morgue. May. Ling died and his body floated on the river. It turned out that all the bodies in the room were all of his former coworkers. They all died, except Walter the entrance guard. Ben found a number on Amy's palm and noted it.

When they are about to leave, they meet Walter who turns out to be looking for them too. He shot them blindly. Ben and Amy run away to the roof of the hospital and hide in a coma patient ward. Walter almost finds Amy when Ben hits him from behind. Amy was injured trying to save his father from Walter's shot, he was hit by a bullet. Ben stole several drugs on the way out, while the police chased him behind him. They managed to get out the window and run away after stealing a car. Ben treats Amy's wounds in a toilet while explaining that she used to be a CIA employee.

In America, a scene is shown in the CIA office, with a woman named Anna who was Ben's boss. It turned out that Holgate was a weapons smuggling company that managed to smuggle its members into the CIA. They managed to steal a CIA secret document, which was shown at the beginning of the scene. It turns out Anna worked with Derek, he was an intruder from the Holgate company, who was looking for the cargo file of the missing Halgate ship. The file was under CIA supervision, and he was assigned to look for it.

Ben and Amy have to find a place to stay overnight. Amy calls Nabil to seek help. Finally, Karim, his uncle, was willing to help smuggle them out of Antwerp. They stayed in the house of an immigrant family for a while. Anna follows to Antwerp to find Ben. While in Holgate's office, a family that was victimized by a sinking cargo still demanded. It turned out that the manager of Holgate did indeed create a fictitious company where Ben worked and hid it.

Anna is angry because she killed all the employees of the fictional company and made Ben the target. But instead, he told Anna to look for Derek and bring the discovery to him. Ben and Amy find out more about the number they found in Mei Ling's hand.

Meanwhile, uncle Nabil who helped Ben yesterday was found murdered at his home, but his young daughter survived. Ben and Amy managed to get into the office of the former fictitious company and managed to find the location of Derek. He did not know, the phone had been tapped by Anna. So they also know what Ben knows.

At the hotel where Derek was hiding, Ben managed to find his room. He climbed himself and told Amy to wait in the lobby to watch. When Ben is interrogating Derek in the room, Amy sees the arrival of Amy and his team. He wanted to warn Ben by going up in the elevator and going down one floor below, then going up using the stairs. He found Ben was beating Derek. Derek was killed by pulling the trigger of the gun in Ben's hand. He said he worked for the CIA. They run away just before Anna catches them. Ben and Amy are cornered in the parking lot. Anna tried to persuade them to surrender themselves. But Ben manages to take Anna hostage and runs away with the car Amy stole. They managed to carry items from Derek's room containing secret documents.

From Anna's words, Amy knows Ben's past work as a hitman. He is very disappointed and runs away leaving Ben by taking the subway. He went to a Nabil family home and asked for help to borrow a telephone and call his grandfather, but the hitman who killed uncle Nabil managed to find him and kill Nabil's mother. Angry Nabil joins Ben to look for Amy.

First, they found out the contents of the documents stolen from Derek about the contents of the shipwrecked cargo ship Halgate Company. It turned out that the cargo contained many CIA secret weapons and found Anna's name listed on a list. Ben calls Anna and tells him to meet him. Awana Anna tried to trap Ben by bringing his members but was foiled by Ben. They talk on the train. After expressing his disappointment! Ben leaves Anna. With his knowledge, Ben then made a special weapon to deal with the Holgate company. He was sure, they were the ones who captured Amy.

He slipped a cellphone into Holgate's owner's hand and called him, telling him to come to exchange Amy with the evidence he held about Holgate's cargo. While Anna came directly to Holgate's house and offered to make the exchange and Holgate agreed. On the way, he intends to free Amy but is blocked by the assassin. He managed to escape Amy. Ben and Holgate meet at the agreed place while carrying Amy. Ben realizes that Amy is with the hitman and they say that Ben must come with them or Amy is killed. Ben was forced to agree and told Nabil to take Amy. Ben will be killed by the hit man. But the bomb Ben put in the suitcase exploded on time and killed them all except Ben.

Nabil takes Amy to the airport, she will return to her grandfather's home in New York. Right before his departure, Ben caught up with him.
