Family-themed films are not special offerings, in a sense, there are too many titles that take this up. However, the Instant Family film managed to present a new spice that made the audience feel at home sitting in the cinema chair.

Starring Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne, the story in the Instant Family raises the theme around the issue of adoption. At first glance, this film has a similar taste to Juno (2007). The difference is that in the film Juno takes the perspective of a teenage woman who experiences an early pregnancy and wants to give her baby to the adoption party.

While the Instant Family discusses how hard it is to be a parent of children who are completely unknown. But make no mistake, these two films can both make you laugh out loud.

Beginning with a longing for the presence of a baby:

This film made by Sean Andres tells the story of a husband and wife namely Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) who feel there is a feeling of being empty in their lives. After careful thought, Pete and Ellie decided to become adoptive parents.

Not as easy as one might think, they must undergo further training first, assisted by social workers named Karen (Octavia Spencer) and Sharon (Tig Notaro). Arriving on the eagerly awaited day, Pete and Ellie attended an event that was quite unique. Located in a park filled with children, they can choose for themselves who wants to be adopted as adopted children. Initially wanting to choose young children, their choice finally fell to Lizzy (Isabela Moner), a teenager of Mexican descent.

Not suppose, it turns out that Lizzy has two sisters named Juan (Gustavo Quiroz) and Lita (Julianna Gamiz). Two social workers advised Pete and Ellie to include them. Starting from here, the drama starts. Pete and Ellie felt the weight of dealing with new family members.

Full of Unexpected Comedy

The Instant Family also became a reunion for the director, Sean Anders, with Mark Wahlberg. In 2015, they had worked with Daddy's Home comedy. This collaboration continued two years later for the story of the sequel. The effect, Mark Wahlberg has understood Anders' willingness in the Instant Family.

His duet with Rose Byrne feels very fit and complementary. In launching a comedy, these two figures always present surprises that are not predictable. Supported by a carefully set atmosphere, Pete and Ellie's actions succeeded in making the audience laugh freely in the theater seats.

Determined to be able to take the hearts of his adopted children, these two main actors are willing to do everything, even though they often lead to failure. The main obstacle came from Lizzy, who was always skeptical about the figure of adoptive parents and missed the figure of his biological mother.

Saving Deep Family Values

Although it is full of funny scenes, this film also provides many lessons in life that can be taken, especially in family life. The figure of Pete and Ellie does seem comical at a glance, but as you follow their journey, it turns out that this lunge can also make your heart touched.

In one moment, Lizzy's hair falls apart when she just wakes up. In the hope of opening the heart of his adopted child, Ellie volunteered to comb Lizzy's hair. It's been a long time because I didn't feel parental affection, Lizzy's cheeks didn't feel like tears were falling.

Not only Ellie, but Pete also proved that he was ready to become a father figure. Frustration faces Lizzy's stubbornness, Pete invites his adopted son to a house. Working as a contractor, Pete told Lizzy to destroy all the furniture in the house, with the aim of overtaking all pent-up anger. Pete's action succeeded in getting him closer to Lizzy.

The presence of drama and comedy moments successfully combined well by Sean Anders. There is no feeling confused when watching this film, the storyline is easy to digest and very entertaining.
