Planned two years ago, the live-action adaptation of Yukito Kishiro's manga finally touched the big screen. Film Alita: Battle Angel was successfully written and produced by James Cameron. Directed by Robert Rodriguez, this film is a cyberpunk show centered on an amnesiac cyborg named Alita and his adventures in the 26th century.

Plot:

Telling Alita (Rosa Salazar), a robot who was born again thanks to Dr. Iddo (Christoph Waltz), a doctor who realizes the potential of Alita. Living in Iron City, Iddo tries to protect her from her mysterious past. Meanwhile, his new friend, Hugo (Keean Johnson) actually helps get back his lost memory.

Because of the ability of Panzer Kunts and his cyborg body that has advanced technology, Alita is the target. He also managed to find fragments of his past memories and remembered his mission to kill the person behind the crime in the city. Did Alita succeed in meeting the person behind the crime?

Performance of Complementary Characters

The amazing performance of Rosa Salazar instills the character of Alita with sincerity. As a cyborg.

Christoph Waltz and Jennifer Connelly get the most substantial role, playing as Dr. Iddo and Dr. Chiren. Waltz can surpass the touching role of father and mentor, making him a forgotten player in the film. Connelly managed to become Children, making it one of the interesting and charming film characters.

Mahershala Ali, Jackie Earl Haley, and Ed Skrein can play various antagonistic characters throughout the film. Ali brings a quiet and calm intensity to the evil Vector, while Haley and Skrein are more obedient criminals. Broadly speaking, some cameos appear unexpected.

Post-Apocalyptic Story that Cliches Can Be Forgiven.

Regardless of the length of production, many people are rather pessimistic about this film. Even putting aside the fact that the adaptation of anime live action forms is historically terrible. Moreover, extended productions and release dates were postponed several times, giving the impression that Fox was not sure about the film Alita: Battle Angel.

Overall, the action sequence on display by the film Alita: Battle Angel is very thrilling. Combining practical and digital effects to create Rodriguez's actions for years. Moreover, the Panzer Kunst fighting style, the IP of the manga came alive in a thrilling and binding way.

One of Rodriguez's most powerful storytelling skills is his ability to create tension in a series of actions. He is careful in arranging the action scenes. In a way, one of the best in the whole film is a bar fight. That's where Rodriguez was at his best.

The 3-D effect implemented in this action sequence is also quite amazing. The Motorball scene in this film is more than just the IMAX 3-D ticket price. In a way, the scene serves as the most astonishing sequence in all films, both in construction and in its implementation. Maybe, the scene became one of Rodriguez's big setpieces he had made.

Perfect Marriage of Practical and Digital Effects

The CGI effect in the film Alita: Battle Angel is the best that this filmThe cinematography The cinematography is consistently beautiful, beats the shocking action, and it becomes a satisfying peak for Alita. He became Rodriguez's creative power. Moreover, James Cameron is no stranger to creating a world of sci-fi

Choreography, staging, and action are extraordinary. Some are not perfect, so there are scenes that feel slow. It is as if there is a gap between the actions and reactions of the characters who use CGI. However, it's all not too problematic if you watch with 3-D effects

The view of Iron City and Zalem that always looms over and over presents a truly enthralling dynamic from the start. Visually and thematically, upper-class aristocrats who can throw garbage whenever they want to go down is a brilliant concept in post-Apocalyptic. This film plays the dynamics of the Zalem and Iron City as an effective substitute for the depiction of Heaven and Earth.

Just as Alita was dropped into a dump and forced to find out her past, we also fall into the universe from this story with good clues about what happened and what will happen.

If you feel disappointed when you want more at the end of the story, that means Rodriguez managed to deliver Alita to the beginning of his franchise. Film Alita: Battle Angel will be the beginning of the trilogy that will be made. However, it has not been confirmed about the continuation of the story.
