Review movie of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (2019)

After nine years of learning how to train dragons, our hero, Hiccup ( Jay Baruchel ) of course should have passed; if not, then drop out because it is past the 7-year standard of the School. So now it's not a matter of training dragons anymore. So, happy to find that How to Train Your Dragon 3, which is the last film of the franchise, really acts as an essential cover. This film gives us a dramatic moment, which is inevitable, with (((enough))) just right. He also gave a satisfying answer about why humans no longer meet dragons at this time.

Much has changed for almost a decade. Hiccup had become Berk's chief, continuing his baton from his father. The brew has begun to grow. He also must be ready to continue his relationship with Astrid ( America Ferrera ) to a more advanced level, because Astrid must also not want to hang on. Naga pet Hiccup, a Night Fury named Toothless, has become an alpha dragon, which allows him to rule any dragon. One thing that makes the How to Train Your Dragon interesting to observe is because the film grows with characters. Our heroes are getting older, so are their problems. The story is built by realizing changes in a long period of time.

In the first film, Hiccup managed to make his tribe live harmoniously with dragons, turning them from dragon hunters to dragon tamer. In the next film, he successfully overcomes the threat of a dragon hunter team led by sadist Drago Bludvist with his giant dragon. After all that, let alone try the conflict that Hiccup and Toothless will face? Seems like nothing can be bigger.

That is why the new threat from Grimmel the Grisly ( F. Murray Abraham) Not so biting, even though he had an army of dragon scorpions that could spout corrosive acids from their mouths. "You have never met anyone like me," Grimmel told Hiccup as he almost managed to kidnap Toothless. But we seem to have been. This film needs something to move Hiccup and his tribe from their hometown. And Grimmel was just a small thorn in charge of it.

Their goal is the paradise of the world for dragons, a mysterious place called "Hidden World". Not hidden-hidden really, because we can see it intact in the middle of the film. But I will not complain. "Hidden World" is truly a visual paradise; the place is built with CGI enchanting, decorated with neon colors that dazzle the eyes. The picture quality in this third film goes through everything we've seen in its predecessor film. The details are amazing. Director Dean DeBlois, who flew solo since the second film, utilizes the dynamic of his medium to provide immersive aerial sequences.

Finding "Hidden World" is not the only Hiccup problem. His best friend, Toothless was in love because he had just met a species of a dragon named Light Fury. Kasmaran has been chronic until Toothless must bobbing abysmally in order to attract the attention of the Tibetan. This left Hiccup behind, with the inner conflict that Hiccup himself did not know. Without Toothless, Hiccup turned out to be a less attractive protagonist. Here I realized that this Hiccup is actually a rather boring character. He doesn't cough * toothed without the dragon.

The same thing might also apply to characters we already know from previous films. We met again with the Tuffnut twins ( Justin Rupple ) and Ruffnut ( Kristen Wiig), Fishleg ( Christopher Mintz-Plasse ), Gobber ( Craig Ferguson ), Eret ( Kit Harrington ), Snotlout ( Jonah Hill ), and mother Hiccup, Valka ( Cate Blanchett ). They * really * just feel like supporting characters, whether it's to complicate the situation or just laugh.

But perhaps that is not the main point. All the hustle and bustle is just the mechanics of the plot so that Hiccup can review his relationship with Toothless. This film does not hesitate to give a realistic statement about how the true meaning of caring for someone/something. Look at new goals and give up what has passed. Not so emotional, but the film polishes it by basing this internal conflict through a flashback involving a small Hiccup with his father Stoick ( Gerard Butler ).

Although the plot is not very binding, there are many things that are very worthy to be witnessed from this film, especially the quality of the animation which has increased significantly. However, How to Train Your Dragon 3deserve to exist not only for that reason; he had an old story to conclude even though he didn't have a new story to tell.
