The Terminator series is among the best-selling science fiction movie series ever. Since The Terminator (1984), three sequels have been made namely, Terminator 2: The Judgement Day (1991), and Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines (2003) and Terminator Salvation (2009). Unfortunately, James Cameron is only working on a sequel. The quality of the last two sequels is far below his first two films. T2 is even considered one of the best action films who until now still searched the unmatchable.
The Terminator takes the story of the killer robot (Arnold Schwarzenegger) from the future sent to the present only for one purpose, i.e. to eliminate Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), the biological mother of the Warrior leader of mankind in the future against Skynet ( machine). As a patron sent Lieutenant Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) to whose job is only one i.e., saved Sarah. Almost all of the film is self-describing how Sarah and Kyle trying to escape from pursuit Terminator. In the difficult situation of the Department is rife with uncertainty, Sarah and Kyle instead of mutual love.
While the T2 took the story eleven years after the events of the first film. Sarah has now had a ten-year-old boy, John Connor (Edward Furlongs), the fruit of his heart along with Kyle. Skynet again sends a robot killer super advanced type T-1000 (Robert Patrick) to kill John. But this time as a helper robot type is the T-800 (a type of robot in the first movie) the programmed reset this time to protect her. Like the first film, most of the movie deals with how the three of them should run from the pursuit of the T-1000. On the other hand, Sarah target Miles Dyson (Joe Morton), a scientist who developed the technology high level, the forerunner of the Skynet.
From my side of the story, one thing became more value The Terminator is the original story ideas. Two figures from the future with a different power level (Man vs. robot) must confront each other physically. We all know if there is not a single human being in the present that will be able to fight the Terminator. Surely this promising a dish very exciting action, suspenseful and scary like a horror movie. You can imagine, the robot walking through alone without fear of slaughter ran out of one police station only to find the hunting. The curiosity of the audience throughout the film will definitely be excited, how the robot could get killed.
In T2, Cameron still use the formula the same story with the first film, then what is special? Like most sequels now Cameron seems to have been able to understand what the desired audience. More action! To support these two figures from the future still with different strength levels were made much more superior than the first film. One robot and another super advanced robot. Again, this course promises a super exciting and thrilling action. And in fact, it is so. Most of the film, the story of the film went very suspenseful and filled with scenes of the insane action like never before.
Although not as powerful as T2 Terminator action elements yet has shown talent even with a budget, Cameron. Future action sequence featuring a laser using tanks and warplanes Skynet already seem very convincing to his time. And then also a Chase-chase the car very stressful in the middle and towards the end of the film. Yet one of the most memorable action scenes (read: shock) is when the terminator to attack police stations and kill all who were there blindly. Entertaining is clearly not yet this scene feels so stressful at the same time scary.
Speaking of action items in the T2 already unnecessary comment. Sequence-action sequence in the film was recorded as the best ever. A large production budget, this time strongly support Cameron to make actions that are crazy and excited by using a variety of vehicles from motorcycles, police cars, big trucks, up to helicopter. Chase-Chase action is very exciting in the channel (Canal) city of Los Angeles is still searched unmatchable. With the right of Cameron is able to utilize the limited setting perfectly through the movement and camera angles, editing techniques, as well as position players (vehicles). Another action sequence was not much different. Only one word for commenting, superior.
From the visual effect, Terminator belongs is very simple. The robots in their original form in the climax of the film looks once using stop-motion techniques. Though so but still does not reduce the element of suspense because it can be presented fairly convincing. While the visual effects in the T2 until now did not seem far behind. One amazing accomplishment category is the T-1000 character who is able to melt and transform themselves into the form of any massive. As an example, in a scene in the prison, when the T-1000 turns into chess patterned floors and slowly turns into a prison guard capable of visualized so awesome seems really real.
Another one that became the strength of two films this is the illustration of the music composed by Brad Friedel. Terminator theme music that stamping and so strong was able to carry over long in the memory long after watching the film. In the Terminator films, such as class B Fiedel, often using only simple yet capable instruments add to the feel of the tensions primarily during action scenes. In T2, with a bigger budget, Fiedel using a full orchestra for musical illustration. As a result, the theme music blaring and far more magnificent than ever. Scenes for the sake of scenes especially action growing dramatic and suspenseful.
Arnold Schwarzenegger as the terminator cannot be denied is one of cinema's most popular icons in the history of cinema. Two of the biggest selling points of this movie, especially the T2 is the figure of Arnold. It could be no other actor capable of replacing Arnold figure to serve as a cold killer robots. Arnold is indeed like being born for this role without acting through the physical body, as well as his charm, had enough talk. It feels like it's this factor because the actor to play in a three-film Terminator.
Terminator 1 & 2 mastery is evidence of Cameron in processing a script and put it into a fictional action movie cereal-a very entertaining scientific. Cameron is a film that knows exactly how to pack and what the desired audience. A big-budget spectacle comparable with the quality of the action is presented. Only two films this capitalization, Cameron feels enough already got wrong the best cinematographers predicates in the world.
